In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kacey Musgraves clarified her previous comments on her marijuana use, revealing that she still smokes, though not to the extent she did when she was younger. “I never said I don’t ever partake,” says the 36-year-old singer. “I just don’t wake up and hit a gravity bong the size of my face anymore, which is what I did for a long time. But, hey, more power to whatever suits you.” Elsewhere in the interview, the 8-time Grammy winner teased that she has new music in the works, while describing her roots in country music as “a home base” and “truly where I’m sonically the most happy.” Musgraves reveals that she has “written a ton of songs already” for her next project, which would be the follow-up to 2024’s Deeper Well, which was nominated for Best Country Album at the recent Grammy Awards. “I’m not sure yet where it’s gonna end up,” she says of her new work. “I’ve been feeling really good playing around with some more — I want to say traditional — but at the same time, there always has to be a modern edge there in some way.” (People)
